– The Faculty of Medicine of the University of Brescia calls Prof. D. Russo to direct the Chair of Hematology The Chair of Hematology belongs to the Department of Medical and Surgical Sciences of the University of Brescia

2003
– The Unit of Blood Diseases and Cellular Therapies is activated at the 1st Division of General Medicine of the Department of Medicine of the Azienda Spedali Civili of Brescia
– The Research Doctorate in Clinical and Experimental Hematology is activated at the University of Brescia, in consortium with the University of Bologna.

2004
-The Departmental Unit of Bone Marrow Transplantation for Adults belonging the Department of Oncology of the Spedali Civili of Brescia is established.
-The School of Specialization in Hematology of the University of Brescia is activated

2006
On 27 March 2006 the new Bone Marrow Transplant Center for Adults was inaugurated

2007
– June 2007 the Bone Marrow Transplant Unit for Adults obtains the ISO-EN 9001-2000 Quality Certification

2008
– The BMT-Adults Unit obtains GITMO (Italian Bone Marrow Transplant Group) and CNT (National Transplant Center) Accreditation for HLA-compatible family allogeneic transplant

2009
– January 1, 2009 GITMO-CNT Accreditation is recognized for allogeneic transplantation from a voluntary donor (MUD) or from a donor from the Registry

2010
– 22 September 2010 – European JACIE (Joint Accreditation Committee – ISCT (Europe) & EBMT) European accreditation for the allogeneic transplant program is recognized. -September 24, 2010 – Brescia ADISCO (Association of Italian Umbilical Cord Blood Donors) is established

2011
– May 24, 2011 – presentation of the ADISCO Brescia territorial section at the Apollo Hall of the University of Brescia.

2013
21 June 2013 – The AIL-Brescia (CREA) Hemato-Oncology Research Center is inaugurated. The new Laboratory is dedicated to research for the diagnosis and treatment of haemato-oncological diseases

2014
22 September 2014 – The Laboratory of Molecular Biology and Onco-Hematological Genomics at the AIL-Brescia Hemato-Oncological Research Center (CREA) of the Spedali Civili of Brescia becomes operational.

2020
– May 2020 – Assignment of the Program of Cellular Therapies and Research in Hematology – Asst Spedali Civili di Brescia
– July 2020 – Established the new Doctorate of “Artificial Intelligence in Medicine and Innovation in Clinical and Methodological Research”
